Covering 9 counties around the Knoxville area, our bicycling routes travel: North to Clinton, Norris and Big Ridge State Park; South to the outskirts of Friendsville, Pigeon Forge, Townsend and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park; East to Kodak, Seymour and Sevierville; and West to Kingston, Lenoir City and Melton Hill Dam.
Start locations and routes are color-coded for easy referencing. Alternate start locations are listed, as well as directions for riding your bike from downtown Knoxville to several of the starts.
Each route has a detailed cue sheet offering concise, easy-to-follow directions. Since road signage isn't always visible, intersections are marked with an "@T" or "@Y" and specify stop signs or stop lights. Stores and restrooms along the route are noted.
Detailed maps highlight our bicycling routes and include the stores and restrooms within the vicinity. Our maps can easily be customized to fit your training, fitness or riding time requirements. For ease of reading, we have included the roads that we deem rideable plus those roads that need to be included for clarity. Our maps make It easy to find new roads to explore and to add variety to your route.
Each bicycling route features a profile for the ride. The profile along with the elevation gain and route description, will aid you in determining the route's terrain and degree of difficulty.
